A path to publication in an international journal

Timing

Some journals accept articles that they want but then take time to actually publish them—in some cases, it goes according to how timely the topic is or whether it won’t lose relevance if it waits a bit when there is a “crowd” of articles to publish. If this seems to be happening to your article, keep in touch with the journal about when the anticipated date of publication will be and consider your options if it becomes a very long time. Also, note again that according to international standards, journals cannot withdraw the acceptance of an article unless there are very strong reasons related to the research and/or ethics.

Best wishes on your path!

Note:

A Path to Publication was written by Jean Kollantai, MSW, Senior Lecturer at Tomsk State University and now also the co-director of the Center for Academic Writing at TSU. The information and the sources chosen are based on her experience since 2013 in working with individual authors at TSU and teaching the courses she developed, Academic Writing for Publication and Academic English (both for postgraduate students and staff, and taught entirely in English). Anyone is welcome to contact the Center for more information and resources.
