A path to publication in an international journal

Your goal

Your goal is not to sound exactly like “some British guy,” and you don’t need to think that you have to become like a native speaker of English in every area of your life. But it is quite possible for scholars and scientists to learn to create articles and other research presentations in English on their topic and field that are scientifically clear, precise, meaningful, and engaging. Your goal is that it is your ideas and conclusions that get the attention, and the language is not a distraction from them. Publishing in English can be done, and it is being done by a growing number of people at TSU in both the physical sciences and the humanities and social sciences. The first article or two takes effort, but then it gets progressively more routine, even though it’s never simple.

Tips:

Remember to include proper acknowledgments (a word which, by the way, is spelled with an “e” after the “g” in British!) of all those appropriate to recognize for some help without which the article would not have been possible.

Again, remember to securely save your research notes and materials and the complete information on your references in case it is needed during peer review or even after the article is published (usually, 5 years).
